Why Experimental Mind?

Most experimentation content teaches you the mechanics: statistics, tooling, process. That stuff matters. But it’s not what separates the practitioners who truly move organisations from those who stay stuck running tests nobody acts on.

The Experimental Mind is about the harder, messier part: building cultures where experimentation actually shapes decisions. The politics. The communication. The leadership dynamics. The gap between knowing how to run an A/B test and knowing how to make a business think experimentally.

I’ve spent the better part of a decade in this space, at ING and Vistaprint, and through co-authored academic research on continuous experimentation. I’ve seen what works and what does not. Currently I apply that as freelancer/advisor at companies like Booking.com.

What you’ll get

Every edition is an honest attempt to think something through. Expect honest takes on the state of the experimentation industry, interviews and perspectives from practitioners I respect, and the occasional uncomfortable truth about why so many programmes underperform.

Who it’s for

Experimentation leads, CRO practitioners, product managers, and anyone building or working within a culture that takes evidence seriously. If you’re trying to get better at the craft and at navigating the organisations it lives inside, you’re in the right place.

About me

I’m Kevin Anderson, based in Utrecht, The Netherlands, half Dutch-half Scottish, and professionally obsessed with what it actually takes to make experimentation stick. I also run ExperimentationJobs.com, the niche job board for the experimentation community.
